A Random grouping of thoughts…
So I semi expect this idea to go over like a lead balloon. But I figured I should throw this out there, months ago it was briefly discussed having a sort of "Supporter of FvNation.com Subscription" sort of deal, where folks that wanted to, could help with the costs of running the site, by sending some funds that would be used to keep the site going/improve the site etc etc.
Well with my classes starting around the time of this idea being kicked around, it got tossed to the back burner. This semester is winding down, and I have a short break coming up, so I thought about exploring it more.
Basically I'm not sure what sort of incentive I could toss out there for those that do send in funds, contests and the like just for them? The content of the site would still be open for everyone, but I'd clearly try to do a little something extra for those that are, keeping the boat afloat as they say.
What would any subscription funds go towards: Server costs, improving the quality of hosting the site is on, paying for some coding help for a few things, upkeep and improvement sorts of things.
So I'm asking a few questions with this post.
1) Would you give money to the site to keep it going? If so How Much is fair? 12 dollars a Year? 2 Dollars a Month? A quarter a Day? I mean I dont want anyone thinking I'm trying to milk funds out of people, people in the past have expressed interest in helping with the back end costs of the site, and I figured if people wanna help out, then who am I to deny them.
2) If you Answered no to question 1, your further answers are not required. If you Answered Yes to Question 1, what sort of incentive would you want/expect/need/deserve for helping run the site?
3) I hope that in the Summer we Finally will have some shirts up for those that asked about those as well.
4)And another thing, those folks that expressed they wanted to actually provide content for the site, I still have that contact info, and You should see something from me in May.
I really would appreciate if a number of folks comment on this post with their thoughts.
