So in an effort to spread knowledge of Coconuts, I have decided to make a series of posts going over things so we all may win. Even if we do not have the most helpful tools in the shed.
So when I check my email, I get a number of Ideas for site posts, because people ask me questions. Its handy! They also get yelly, and sometimes I verbally joust them, and they tend to lose. But more often than not I use their email to craft posts that are in an effort to help the masses.
This post is about the Redressed Island Pens, plus in general about the Coconuts in Hawaii.
People build their set of Pens, and harvested them, but were not getting Coconuts, what manner of Insanity is this! After conversing back and forth with 2 people I was able to determine, the contents of their Island Pens, were not Coconut Producing animals. And even more fun, one of them KNEW THAT but assumed the POWER OF THE ISLAND PEN, I guess would Force Coconuts out of that brown horse.
So If you have Island Pens, and you put Just random animals in there, You may get some Coconuts, and likely will not. The number of Older items is Not very long. Same thing if you are planting Strawberries on the Hawaii Farm, You are not gonna discover any Coconuts from them. The Only Crops currently that make coconuts are the Specific Hawaii Crops. Also when You let crops wither on
So now that we've got the "bob is horrible" and assumes you know things post out of the way.
I know some people are still struggling to develop a Strategy for Coconut Production. Would a Post outlining Various ways to build the Coconuts (without a Dairy Farm or Horse Stable) be one that people would enjoy?
Or even better: WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?
If your response is to put the bumblebee suit on inside out and shove the stinger up my rearend like that one fool on facebook. You can be aware I will not be doing this. Besides My Bumblebee Costume Doesn't have a Stinger, so ha.
Or would more people just like to fling poop at me, while I try to help your game play.
PS: I'm just a player of the game LIKE YOU, I just happen to ENJOY writing about Farmville and the interaction with ALL OF YOU, Even the ones that are generally unhappy with me.

Edit: Once again they Have changed it BACK to so you can harvest Coconut Producing Items on ANY FARM and it will count. I still think its really amazing they Changed it, then released a 40% off sale, then a little while Changed it back after the Forums were Filled with People complaining. I personally will not believe it was an accident or a glitch or anything, I think they wanted to see if they could get away with it, and the response from their bosses (the players, the ones that give Money to zynga, or Make money for Zynga via Ads) was NO YOU WILL NOT. Will this game of Cat and Mouse Keep going? Likely. And you can bet they will have safeguards in place for when that 6th farm comes out with its new type of currency..
At this point I think Zynga is just enjoying watching people get annoyed/angry/pissed over this coconut business.
Once again The Zynga Folks have changed the "Law of the Coconuts!"
NOW You have to harvest stuff on your Hawaii Farm to Get Coconuts, This is an AMAZING TURN OF EVENTS after they said
I am disgusted. This will get more players to quit, which I dislike. But Zynga sure seems to enjoy running everyone off.
Edit: The post is still there it seems, I looked earlier and Didn't notice it, and then Nanoha said they didn't see it.
With them listing it as a "known issue" I suspect they intend to claim this was an accident after they saw how angry people got.
So a few people remember the "reply to an angry player" from way back, well once again I feel the need to respond to someone that seems Angry. And My Responses will be Under their Comments, You should be able to easily tell which is which.

I'm thinking you are not clicking through to the site, You likely are one of the people that wonder Why I just post one image of something and just a few words, and not like a full on post about it. The other day someone, figured out how to Yell at me (they used the contact page), because they looked at the quest guide posts on facebook, and all they saw was the quest icon, they didn't see any of the tasks etc. How the crap did they get to the contact page, and miss all the content on the site. Then I realized they actually got my email from someone else and emailed me, because as they told their friend "they had a bone to pick with bob" Every day More and more People work so hard to make me Throw my hands up in frustration and Take off the bumblebee Costume. (yes, in your mind you should think I wear the Bumblebee costume all the time, even though it doesn't have arm holes.)

Yes we've established the Change was that non Hawaii Farms no longer were harvestable for coconuts. Because they believe that would give an unfair advantage to Smart players and also Long time players. If you don't wanna go to Hawaii, well you don't have to. It actually is kinda fun the need for currency, instead of having 100 million coins on my other farms, I have to actually use my brain on Hawaii. So It may be wise for some to avoid Hawaii.

At this point Zynga could tell me that Aliens Changed the Coconut Rules, and I'd not believe them if they were riding in a UFO. Its awful suspect there is a 40% off cash sale shortly after a Change that's sure to cause some rage.
Yes If you leave your animals out on your farm, You wont make it far in the quest lines that require Multiple harvests of an Animal, or getting it to A certain Level of mastery. So I offer a look into my own farm, and the way I do things, in an effort to help folks.
That is a Whole Mess of Beaver and Turtle Harvests. Without a Pen, just the Turtle by himself would take a MONTH to reach Level 1. Nine Days for the Penguin, and 12 Days for the Beach Bum Beaver.
The Bob Farms:
Awhile back I decided that My Home Farm would be almost exclusively Trees/Orchards, with a Few plots for those crops I couldn't plant elsewhere. England would be Crops. Lhc Would be Animals and Gnomes. WW and Future farms would be used for their doings. So with the choice of LHC being Animals, It was obvious I needed some Habitats. (That being said I've already Built one Set of Island Habitats on my Hawaii Farm)
I have 3 of each of the "major Pens" used for this particular Questline (Zoo, Wildlife, Pet Run) I am in the process of building More. Because each Pen you have takes DAYS off of Mastery of an Animal for quest purposes. For example the
Swimsuit Turtle: On Farm, 30 Days
Left in 1 Pen: 10 Days
Moved between 2 Pens: 5 Days+5 Hours
Moved Between 3 Pens: 4 Days+6 Hours
Moved Between 5 Pens: 2 days+8 Hours
So I Do think the Turtle Level 1 Mastery is a bit on the High Side, but is Do able.
PLUS The 2nd Best thing about Putting the Animals into the Pens, You get a chance to CLONE YOUR ANIMAL! Basically when it resets you down that 4% It would not too bad an idea to remove the other animals, so if you do get a mystery Animal from your harvest that it would be the one you would like a dupe of. If one has 2 Turtles, they can Level 1 master with 5 Pens, In less than a Day.
Also as SOON as you get a Quest Animal, It should come out of your box and into a Pen. You may not have to harvest it right away, but you clearly should get it in play asap as such to get the harvests for mastery (if needed) or just the Harvest to meet the Quest Requirements.
We give out Quest Info generally a few days to weeks early, It wouldn't be a bad idea to use Math (sorry Devin) to Preplant as best you can. Same was Crafting, PreCraft when Possible. Try to always have some Orchards that are Ready and not full (for quests with Trees). Also If there are request links for the Quest Ask Fors, Use them! Give yourself an Edge. Does this mean you cant click your friends wall posts? Nope, You can still do that to be a good neighbor (like State Farm).
Another Tidbit, if you have to Harvest an animal X Times in part of a Questline, but then later on Need to have it mastered, DONT STOP CYCLING IT BETWEEN PENS.
I've heard for the Vacation Questline its not Counting the Island Pens for the first part, so Use the Regular ones you have across your farms. I'd suggest NOT harvesting the Zoos you have, and likely not touching the PetRun either, so you can have them ready for when you get your All Packed Penguin and Swim Suit Turtle.
I personally Used my LHC and Winterwonderland Farms, and I'm planted up to Quest 8, I dont wanna put down the Spinach and Chickpeas since they will wither before I get there, I will plant after I harvest the first two Day Crop of the Quest line.

So the Cremello Stallion is the "king" of Coconut Making. This Stallion + 1 Stable + about 100 33% Ready Horses = Win. Some folks have built up a nice little chunk of Coconuts, and have a Stable, plus the Horses to ready it, and do not have the Farmcash to purchase the Stallion! Well there is a solution.
Here is the Market info for the Stallion on the 4 Non Hawaiian Farms.
Here it is on the Hawaiian Farm. That Coconut price sure does look better than Farmcash.
There actually is a way to purchase this Stallion with Coconuts and have it to use on other farms.
The only trick to this is 1) You have to have a neighbor that has this Stallion Standing out on their Hawaii Farm. Also you need almost half a million Coconuts.
The rest is pretty simple as you can see here.
Find a Friend that has the Horse out, hover your Cursor on the horse, and Click, then this window comes up.
Then when you click buy by the coconut price you win. When I wrote the post it did work for me, and I've heard from a few it worked for them, I also am hearing some rumblings this way is causing some farmers to get the "whoa Farmer" message. I will investigate.
The Horse then Goes into your giftbox for placement anywhere.
I told one person this method, and they spent 450k of their 452k coconuts, and about two hours later they had over 1,000,000 Coconuts. So it was handy for them, and hopefully its helpful to someone. Granted they have over 250 Horses on their farm, But still If they rake in a nice chunk of coconuts each day they will have more than enough soon to do most anything.
