I came across this little link to a feedback survey under my farm window today. After curiously clicking, I found a webform type survey powered by SurveyAnalytics. Click the picture above to take it yourself, in case you didn't find the link by your own farm yet! It looks like this… though this is a copy not the actual working webform. After a couple preliminary questions to identify what sort of farmer you are, it lists activities in the game and allows you to select "Very Fun" "Somewhat Fun" or "Not Fun". Enjoy venting!!
Ahoy adventure-seeker-farmers! Today let's reflect on a bit of classic Americana as a segue into our safari sighting of the day.
The 1960's introduced our first "Prime Time" cartoon series, The Flintstones! Not many people have forgotten the epic opening sequence where Fred, anxious for his 5:00 quitting time whistle, slides down the tail of his dinosaur/bulldozer at the quarry on his way to his car and commute home. Click the image if you need a refresher via YouTube!
Of course, everybody wanted to emulate this epic maneuver as well as simulate prehistoric living in Bedrock, so some visionaries in 1972 built Bedrock City, Arizona, USA. Included with an entire tourist-ready town of Bedrock is a huge brontosaurus slide. The park is located south of the Grand Canyon in Williams, Arizona. Yes, this place does exist, and we're safariing there today!
But despite Fred's warm welcome to the real Bedrock town, the point of this Safari is to compare real world things to their Farmville counterparts. Below, I'm posing with the "Dinosaur Slide" released in August 2010 with the Summer Limited Edition set. It cost $30 farmcash but was worth every penny, watching that cute little turtle hockey-puck it down the dino-tail!
But where did this cute brontosaur-slide hybrid item originate? Well the idea was from Mr. Fred Flintstone, as you may have deduced from earlier paragraphs, but the actual REAL LIFE SLIDE was from the folks at Bedrock Arizona circa 1972. You can still visit today, to the huge brontosaur and matching town of Bedrock, and pretend to be Fred at quittin' time and slide down to a real replica Flintstones car.
If you'd like to take a real safari, here's the necessary information!
